Supporting clients of all ages through experiential and trauma-informed approaches to feel grounded, clear, and confident.

April Miller Counseling

About Me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S) who works with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, stress, emotional challenges, and difficult life experiences. I bring a warm, relational, and experiential approach to therapy, integrating play and animal-assisted approaches to enhance insight and clarity throughout the counseling process.

My work is client-centered, trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and grounded in creating a safe space where every client feels understood and supported. Through both play therapy and Psychotherapy Incorporating Equines, I help clients process experiences, strengthen coping skills, build self-awareness, and feel more grounded, connected, and confident in their daily lives.

Who I Help

I work with children, teens, and adults who may be struggling with emotional, behavioral, or life challenges that impact their well-being and daily functioning.

You may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety or depression
  • Perfectionism or people-pleasing
  • ADHD or Autism
  • Trauma or difficult life experiences
  • Difficulty adjusting to change or life transitions
  • Challenges regulating emotions or behaviors when stressed or overwhelmed
  • Low self-esteem or feeling stuck

I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can build coping skills, gain self-understanding, and work toward meaningful growth and healing.

My Approach

My work is client-centered, trauma-informed, experiential, and influenced by Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Together, we’ll explore the deeper issues showing up as behaviors, anxiety, people-pleasing, and feeling stuck so that you or your child can feel more ground, clear, and confident—not just manage symptoms.
